The PowerShares Global Gold and Precious Metals Portfolio ETF (PSAU) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 147,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 43,000. Shares of PSAU were down about 1.6% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Barrick Gold (ABX), trading down about 0.9% with over 6.0 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Newmont Mining (NEM), off about 1.8% on volume of over 4.3 million shares. American Shared Hospital Services (AMS) is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 4.1% on the day, while Dcp Midstream Partners LP (DPM) is lagging other components of the PowerShares Global Gold and Precious Metals Portfolio ETF, trading lower by about 4.7%.
