The SPDR S&P Global Natural Resources ETF (GNR) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Thursday, with over 359,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 178,000. Shares of GNR were down about 0.5% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Thursday were Barrick Gold (ABX), trading up about 5.6% with over 16.0 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Petrobras (PBR), down about 2.4% on volume of over 15.6 million shares. Sesa Sterlite (SSLT) is the component faring the best Thursday, up by about 7.6% on the day, while GoldCorp (GG) is lagging other components of the SPDR S&P Global Natural Resources ETF, trading lower by about 5%.
