The iShares MSCI Global Metals & Mining Producers ETF (PICK) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Thursday, with over 4.0 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 342,000. Shares of PICK were off about 0.8% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Thursday were Freeport McMoran (FCX), trading down about 4.1% with over 27.5 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF), down about 2% on volume of over 11.2 million shares. Vedanta (VEDL) is the component faring the best Thursday, higher by about 2.6% on the day, while Stillwater Mining (SWC) is lagging other components of the iShares MSCI Global Metals & Mining Producers ETF, trading lower by about 4.6%.
